Architecture
…On the shoulders of giants…
The work of late modernist architects such as Louis Kahn, Le Corbusier, and Alvar Aalto has profoundly influenced my architectural career. Their buildings transcend function, existing as works of art and sculpture deeply connected to their context and environment
As my creative practice has evolved from building to making art, I have returned to these enduring works as a source of inspiration. Through abstraction, they are reinterpreted as two-dimensional compositions that explore the ideas and narratives that shaped their creation.
This body of work is both a tribute to these architectural pioneers and as invitation to see the built environment through a different lens=recognizing the artistic narratives embedded within the structures that surround us every day.
